In 1994, three nonprofit community development and housing organizations came together to create the CHRC. From the beginning, the CHRC was charged with being' the place where information on housing is organized and disseminated. While the CHRC can never be a "one stop shop", we are regularly pointed to as the "first stop shop" when you have a question regarding housing or community development. As the information and requests for that information grew, we created systems through which the small staff is able to efficiently provide resource information. These channels of communication include the Affordable Housing Directory, the Training and Technical Assistance Directory, the Tip Sheet Series, the Low Cost No Cost Housing Guide, an Affordable Housing Hotline, an up to date Calendar of Events and Links to helpful Websites. Affordable Housing Directory Technical Assistance and Training Directory Tip Sheet Series Low Cost No Cost Housing Guide Calendar of Events The Affordable Housing Hotline is a recorded message center that provides information on locating emergency, transitional and longer term housing in the metro Atlanta area. You can reach this hotline by calling (404) 222-2739. The hotline is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. For more information or to include yourself in the hotline resources, where appropriate, please contact the CHRC via our Contact Page on this site. The CHRC works closely with other community development organizations, including serving as an officer of AHAND, the trade association of community development corporations in the Atlanta area, and being an active member of the monthly Atlanta Housing Forum. We welcome you to visit each of our information channels and hope that you will find them relevant and accurate. |
