| Description | Jefferson Place Shelter admits homeless men age 18 and over between 5:00 - 9:00 PM every night. Up to 150 men can be accommodated per night. Check out time is 6:00 AM each day. Jefferson Place also provides long-term transitional housing (18 months). Participants do not work nor attend school for the first 6 months. They receive case management, health care, employment assistance, life-skills training, and, generally, learn how to become and remain self-sufficient. Recovering substance abusers must have at least 28 days clean in order to participate in the program. Jefferson Place provides resettlement assistance for homeless Fulton County residents who are working for at least 8 consecutive weeks and demonstrate the financial ability to continue to pay rent and utilities for the unit being considered for occupancy. Jefferson Place is operated by the Fulton County Human Services Department. |
