2002 IMPACT SUMMARY:

COMMUNITY NETWORK:
  • SERVICE LEARNING:
      1. Strengthen educational partnerships. Build two new "bridges" between the network of Atlanta's community based organizations and the university system.
      2. Facilitate 45 internship projects that place students in community based organizations.
      3. Enroll 100 people in orientation sessions in 2001 and accept 6 organizations into the full Course of Action program.
      4. Complete 6 projects through the Course of Action, with the process and results clearly documented.
      5. Create a solid base of financial support for service learning programs.

  • TROUBLE SHOOTING:
      6. Successfully address 6 emerging needs by the end of 2002.
      7. Maintain active membership in three groups that are functioning and beneficial for the CHRC.
      8. Extend 6 new research and development "feelers" over the course of the year.

  • FIRST STOP SHOP:
      9. Document 80,000 contacts to the CHRC for information by the end of 2002.
      10. Survey new housing and community development groups across Georgia. Automate and update the Affordable Housing Directory.
      11. Create three additional Tip Sheets produced and made available on relevant topics.
CONSTRUCTION:
  • EMERGENCY REPAIR:
      1. Referral of 500 homes to financial and contracting services.
      2. Direct repair on 225 homes.
      3. Two community organizations trained to oversee repair projects through the Course of Action.
      4. Research and expand resources list for home repairs and accessibility modifications in Georgia.

    DESIGN/BUILD:
      5. Develop the capacity to provide design services and carry out three projects.
      6. Develop the ability to provide construction services and carry out three projects.
ORGANIZATION:
  • PROMOTIONAL MATERIALS:
      1. Publicize the CHRC's new directions, ongoing successes and leadership through a targeted marketing campaign.
      2. Create a 2001 CHRC Annual Report to be published and distributed by May 2002.
      3. Create a professional and flexible brochure.
      4. Invite an individual with public relations/marketing skills to join the CHRC Board.

  • COMMUNITY AWARENESS:
      5. Develop marketing materials that celebrate the accomplishments of the CHRC in a professional manner.
      6. Distribute tools via the internet, CHRC networks and targeted mailings.
      7. Arm all staff and Board Members of the CHRC to speak publicly about the work of the organization.
